About IMAGE

Objectives:

IMAGE cell design is based on novel Lithium metal as anode and an all solid-state technology combined with gel-polymers. electrolytes. The resulting Lithium-Ion battery prototypes are fully aligned with the roadmap of EASE/EERE (relevant objectives of the SET-Plan). The project IMAGE will enable a pathway towards lower costs with increased specific energy of > 300 Wh/kg.

- Battery material selection and battery cell component manufacturing at lab scale

- Cell design and technology validation

- Cell prototyping towards mass production

- Cell validation and virtual battery concept

- Technology flexibility and implementation of all-solid-state emerging technologies

- Business, exploitation and dissemination

Impact:

The new cell architectures and designs will lead to high energy density battery modules and layouts. The new battery concepts will be elaborated to match both automotive and stationary application requirements.
